According to the annual List of mines, operators and purchasing agents: Halberstadt's general map of the bituminous coal fields of Pennsylvania, 1907, there were only one operator near Benezette, the Dents Run Mining Company. They operated two mines, Dents Run No. 1 and Dents Run No. 2.
