1900s

This chic dress has a yoke front and back of cluny lace. The dress has a Gibson collar, and plaits over the shoulders extending to the waistline front and back. Front displays directoire pendants with tasseled ends. Waist and skirt are joined by a crushed girdle of material. The active tucked sleeves end with lace. Gored skirt with deep plaits. Dress closes in the back. By 1898, the back of the bodice fitted closely, the front fullness became softer and looser and began to pouch over the waistline. After its collapse the sleeve was tight fitting all down the arm.
